Enjoy an unusual kosher gastronomic and halachic event. Be a link in the chain of Mesorah as you sample a variety of exotic kosher foods expertly prepared from fauna, fish and fowl. Explore and taste the mesorah of quail, pigeons, doves, turkey, duck, deer, red deer, bison, sheep, and goat. View a brand new video showing the search for, and gathering of, unusual kosher species. Ever taste a fleishig egg? What about the rare shibuta, described in the Talmud as the fish that tastes like chazir?! Each course will be preceded by an introductory shiur on the sources in chazal for the particular food item and the halachic issues associated with it. Slide shows and videos will demonstrate the laws of kashruth, kashering, and shechita. Experts from Israel will describe going into the field to collect the disappearing mesorahs on exotic birds and animals. A similar dinner in Yerushalayim two years ago, was a smashing success. This and more in the gourmet environment of Levana Kosher Restaurant, all under OU supervision. Seating for this one-of-a-kind event is extremely limited so please complete the attached registration form if you wish to attend.
