OVERSIZED The Akeida - the "sacrifice" of Isaac - takes a central and unique place in the character of the Yom Tov of Rosh Hashana. Every day of the Selichos we beseech G-d to show us mercy in the merit of the Akeida. How great then is the obligation to delve into and understand this special parsha. This book is a collection of a small part of the relevant commentaries to develop a basic understanding of the text and a proper perspective of its concepts. Commentaries are selected from the midrash and Chazal. The Hebrew and English text of the Akeida is placed on facing pages preceding the commentary sections.
