In 1935,when her husband Reb osher Sternbuch passed away, Mrs. Devora Sternbuch ws left a widow at the age of 34,with nine childrenages 2-14. it was a tragedy that would have broken many others, but mrs. Sternbuch had inner resources to resolutely face the trials and tribulations. Upholding her husband's and her own un compromising standards she succeeded inraising all her children to be G-d fearing Jews in the spiritual wasteland that was London in the 1930's. Today, her descendants number in the hundreds, they are outstanding talmidei chachomim,rabbanim and roshei yeshivos, torah teachers and leaders in chreidi communities all over Eretz Yisroel, Europe, North America and South Africa.Mrs. Stenbuch became a legend in her lifetime as a woman who possessed great spiritual resources.
