Product Description

Yechezkel Harfenes considered his time in the Nazi hell, shuttled from death camp to death camp, to embody this verse, which compares the hellish experience of the wicked after their deaths to the movement of a stone back and forth within a slingshot as it is wound up to be shot. The Gemara explains: "The souls of the wicked are eternally imprisoned while one angel stands at one end of the world and a second at the other, and they sling these souls to each other, for it is said: 'And the souls of your enemies will He sling out in the hollow of the sling' " (Shabbos 152b). Although this verse refers to the punishment of the wicked, Rav Yechezkel was himself unwittingly caught up in the Slingshot of Hell and survived.
