The author, Yaakov Glicksman, zl, made aliya in 1969 from America. While attending Yeshiva Hachel Hatorah for eight years he simultaneously acquired his Degree in Electrical Engineering from City College. In Israel he worked as a radar engineer for Elta Electronics. In 1979 he received "The Israel Defence Prize" for his contribution to his country. He wrote this book in the knowledge that he was suffering from cancer. His life was a true Kiddush HaShem - combining the pursuit of excellence in Torah and scientific studies - within a framework of modesty and saintliness. He passed away at the early age of 43 and is survived by his wife and eight children.
